initiatives

We proudly support and promote three evidence-based programs in the Eastern Panhandle. Sources of Strength is implemented in six Berkeley County Schools, Eastern Panhandle Preparatory Academy and will be implementing the program in Jefferson County high schools and Shepherd University in the Fall of 2024. Our president, Lee O'Neill, is a certified trainer for Sources of Strength and will be working on becoming a Regional Trainer in 2024-2025 school year. We are supporters of bringing SafeTALK and ASIST training to our area to continue to educate our community on Suicide Prevention and Awareness initiatives. With over 200 peer leaders and 100 adult advisors trained, we are making a significant impact on youth suicide prevention

The Brian Oneill Jr Foundation was established to honor the legacy of Brian Jr "BJ," a compassionate and remarkable individual who touched many lives. Despite his own struggles, BJ's kindness and dedication to helping others inspired our mission to prevent youth suicide. The negative messaging he sent to himself and his ability to NOT forgive himself for choices he made motivated us to find programs that promoted empowerment and inner strength building.

Our foundation aims to empower individuals and their families through community programs that support inner strength and awareness, promoting a culture of hope and resilience.
